One of the current faces of the NBA, Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry, made an unexpected appearance at SAP Center on Saturday to watch one of the future faces of the NHL, San Jose Sharks rookie Macklin Celebrini.
The Warriors star was in the building with his daughter, Riley, sitting in a private suite to watch the Sharks host the Seattle Kraken.
Curry, fresh off scoring 36 points in a win over the Nuggets on Friday, showed up in a “Keep Shooting” hoodie and a black cap and was captured on the Sportsnet broadcast of the game enjoying the night.
His presence wasn’t random, however, as Macklin Celebrini is the son of Rick Celebrini, vice president of player health and performance for the Warriors.

Macklin, who picked up an assist in the 5-1 loss, grew up around Curry and the Warriors and even earned the nickname “Chester” from Curry during the 2024 draft.
“Cause his hands are so filthy, just like after eating a big ol’ bag of Cheetos,” Curry joked last year.
Celebrini has been a bright spot in a difficult Sharks season, tallying 21 goals and 34 assists in 64 games.
The Sharks, now on a four-game losing streak, have long been eliminated from playoff contention and wrapped up Saturday with a 20-46-10 record.
At the bottom of the NHL standings, they remain one of the favorites for the top pick in this summer’s draft, boasting the largest odds to land the No. 1 overall pick at a 25.5% chance, per Tankathon.
Meanwhile, Curry and the Warriors are riding a five-game win streak as they push for playoff positioning just 45 miles north at Chase Center.
