Warriors Urged to Make Shocking Draymond Green, Jonathan Kuminga Move

Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga will dominate the headlines for the club this offseason.

This past season was full of drama for the G League Ignite product.

Kuminga was hitting his stride early in this season, despite the Warriors' struggles prior to the trade deadline.

The young Warriors forward suffered an ankle injury in January, which kept him on the sidelines until March. When he returned from injury, Golden State had already acquired Jimmy Butler in a blockbuster trade.

With this, Kuminga was a poor fit alongside Butler and Stephen Curry -- leading to his benching. If it hadn't been for postseason injuries, the Warriors forward would have remained out of the lineup, too.

A divorce between Kuminga and the Warriors, heading into the offseason, feels inevitable, especially after Steve Kerr's recent comments

However, one former NBA guard, Keyon Dooling, has quite a shocking suggestion for the club. He believes the Warriors should trade Draymond Green instead and keep Kuminga.

"I feel like you got to bet on the youngsters at this point. I think Draymond has served his purpose in Golden State," Dooling explained. You know, they maximized his potential. He's a champion. He's going to be forever in all of our hearts, as the heart, soul and the spirit of that Warriors dynasty.

"Instead of doing a sign and trade with Kuminga, you will find more minutes for him if Draymond is not on that team, right? And you will change kind of the way that you play.

"I think scoring is something that they need. And this guy averaged 14, 15 points in limited minutes. If you trade him, he'll be like how Tracy McGrady when he got traded from the Raptors. He's very talented."

Kuminga is absolutely talented. But as Kerr explained, he's a poor fit with the squad. Sometimes, young players have to be moved from their initial situation to break out -- and that might just be the case for Kuminga.

Green has helped build Golden State's dynasty. He will be a part of the core until the wheels fall off.
