Was Suns’ Devin Booker disrespected with NBA 2K26 rating?

NBA 2k26 is schedule to release in two weeks, Sept. 5th. In celebration, the game is releasing the top 100 rated players, with Phoenix Suns superstar Devin Booker landing 20th in the rankings with a 91 overall. He is behind former teammate Kevin Durant, who is rated a 93 overall with his new team the Houston Rockets. While the future Hall of Famer’s rating can’t be questioned there is plenty of player’s rated above Booker that could raise an eyebrow.

Suns’ Booker find himself at a 91 overall:

The former MVP Joel Embiid sits at a 92 overall, which is a five point decrease from last year. The 2K developers were generous to Embiid, who only played 19 games and had the lowest point mark since 2019-2020.

Cade Cunningham had a seven point increase to be one point rated higher than Booker. Cunningham was able to bring the Detroit Pistons from laughing stocks to the playoffs in one season and earned his first All-Star berth. The 23-year-old averaged more points and assists than Booker, while having better team success, making the higher rating seem warranted.

Booker peaked at a 95 overall during last season, but after a complete collapse in the second half of the season, his rating dropped. Despite arguably playing the best basketball of his career, Booker’s team success will likely continue to taint his NBA 2K26 rating, which might not mean much, but could be how fans view the Suns franchise points leader.
