The Golden State Warriors’ injury situation worsened in last night’s 99-98 road defeat against the Philadelphia 76ers, as Draymond Green became the team’s latest casualty.

The odds were already stacked against the Golden State Warriors, as they were without Jimmy Butler (knee) and Stephen Curry (quad). Green sustained a foot injury in the second quarter when Dominick Barlow fell on his foot while getting the rebound.

Green left the game with three points, three rebounds, and one block on 1-for-3 shooting from the field in nine minutes. Despite his absence, the Golden State Warriors almost stole the game, buoyed by the performances of Pat Spencer, Buddy Hield, De’Anthony Melton, Moses Moody, and Quinten Post.

According to ESPN’s Anthony Slater, Green was in a walking boot and hopes to play through the injury in the next few games.

Golden State Warriors News: Steve Kerr addresses Draymond Green’s latest injury

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr described last night’s loss as a “gut punch” because of what they’ve been through. Moreover, he expressed optimism about Draymond Green’s injury situation.

“I don’t ever have any expectations coming into the year for injuries. We just roll with whatever is coming our way. We have a lot of depth, and we believe we can win games like tonight without our three best players. I thought we deserved to,” Kerr said.

“He looks good, he looks lean, he’s felt good. I don’t know if what happened tonight is related to what happened the other night. But obviously we’ll be careful with him and see how he’s doing in Cleveland,” he said of Green.
