West Franchise Has 'Serious Interest' in Landing Giannis Antetokounmpo That Could Reunite Him With Ex-Champion Teammate

Where will Giannis Antetokounmpo land in the next season? Well, the question appears to be very simple. But the answer is not yet certain. But that is not stopping the rumor mills from churning. With more and more mystery surrounding his situation, the outcome is now anyone’s guess. Continuing with the long trend of speculations, a latest suitor in the Portland Trail Blazers has emerged recently. 

According to new updates from NBA insider Chris Haynes, the Trail Blazers are showing some serious interest in acquiring the big man. Speaking on the ‘Deals and Dunks’ show on the SiriusXM NBA Radio, Haynes said, “I’ve heard Portland has serious interest to get a deal done to acquire Giannis. To potentially bring back the pairing of Dame and Giannis…I’m told Portland has serious interest and they are investigating behind the scenes and trying to see what would make sense.”

Currently, the Bucks are exploring all the possibilities for a blockbuster trade. Recently, Milwaukee approached the Cleveland Cavaliers for a potential swap that included Evan Mobley. Interestingly, the idea of the ‘Greek Freak’ getting paired up with former teammate Damian Lillard might interest the 31-year-old star.

Meanwhile, if the trade does go through, Portland might just get a quick update. On the other hand, Giannis will not only be reunited with Lillard but also with his former champion teammate, Jrue Holiday.

How Would Giannis Antetokounmpo Fit Into the Portland Trail Blazers?

Currently, the 10-time NBA All-Star is reportedly looking to join the Boston Celtics or Miami Heat. But for the Portland trade to happen, the biggest factor remains the 2-time NBA MVP’s approval. However, if he does want to commit to the Blazers, the pairing with Lillard might become crucial.

Of course, the same pairing did not work out for the Milwaukee Bucks. Following injury concerns and poor coaching, the Giannis-Dame pairing resulted in two first-round playoff exits. But with the likes of Jrue Holiday, Deni Avdija, and Donovan Clingan playing support, the pair might have a different story in Portland. 

Thus, at the moment, there is a lot of speculation around the two-time NBA MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and the Milwaukee Bucks. Now, all eyes will be on how things pan out for the next season.
