What Desmond Bane said after Magic clutch game-winner vs. Trail Blazers

The Orlando Magic are celebrating after Desmond Bane hit a game-winner to beat the Portland Trail Blazers in the team's latest game.

Bane spoke about the shot and victory after the game against the Blazers.

“It’s hard to process it really until everything kind of slowed down. You know, I mean, it was a back-and-forth game down the stretch. It got close, got crazy, and we needed that one for sure," Bane said.

Bane's shot leads Magic to victory

Bane struggled from the 3-point line throughout the game, missing all five of his attempts. However, he hit the big shot when it mattered most as time expired.

“One three, and that was the big one. You know, I think that was great of him to have poise, for them to pay attention to that time out, to understand exactly how to execute. And that's who he is. That's what he's done. He's done it many times in his career," Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley said of Bane.

"To be able to hit big shots and step into the moment. And I'm just happy for him, for sustaining it, for playing with that level of aggression throughout the game, making the right plays and then he was rewarded at the end of the game. By continuing to do the right thing, you know, for 48 (minutes).”

Shots like Bane's game-winner are the reason why the Magic acquired him in a trade for four first-round picks from the Memphis Grizzlies. The Magic need a sniper on the floor to complement Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner and Bane is expected to fill that role.

While Bane hasn't gotten off to the greatest of starts with the Magic, seeing dips in all major statistical categories, including 3-point percentage, a shot like the game-winner can build some momentum for the future.

Bane will hope to keep things going for the Magic in their next game against the New York Knicks. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET inside Madison Square Garden. Fans can watch the big game on ESPN or stream it on the ESPN app.
