Quenton Jackson stole the show as the Indiana Pacers defeated the Golden State Warriors 114-109 on Saturday night.
Most NBA fans will not recognize Jackson’s name, but he has played in Indiana’s last four regular-season games.
The Pacers were 0-5 before their victory against the Warriors, and it looked like this season would be a complete write-off.
Now, after Jackson’s excellent performance this weekend, Pacers fans have another reason to be excited.
Jackson has steadily worked his way into head coach Rick Carlisle’s rotation after missing the Pacers’ first two games of the season.
He showed enough in his 10 minutes against the Timberwolves and 18 against the Mavericks for Carlisle to start him against the Hawks on Friday night.
The 27-year-old made four of his eight shots from the field, including two out of four from three, scoring 15 points.
| Date | Game | Minutes | Points | Rebounds | Assists |
| Oct 26 | @ Timberwolves | 10 | 4 | 2 | 0 |
| Oct 29 | @ Mavericks | 18 | 8 | 3 | 0 |
| Oct 31 | vs Hawks | 22 | 15 | 4 | 4 |
| Nov 1 | vs Warriors | 31 | 25 | 6 | 10 |
Jackson then played 31 minutes versus the Warriors, repaying Carlisle’s faith in him by putting up 25 points, six rebounds, and 10 assists.
One could argue that the point guard’s performance was even similar to some of Tyrese Haliburton’s last season.
By comparison, Stephen Curry gave the Warriors 24 points and two assists on much lower field goal efficiency (34.8%) than Jackson (62.5%).
The key for Jackson will now be to continue his impressive form and help the Pacers climb the Eastern Conference standings.
The Pacers were always going to find the 2025-26 season difficult after losing Myles Turner to the Milwaukee Bucks and Tyrese Haliburton to injury.
However, there remains enough talent on the Pacers’ roster for Rick Carlisle to lead them to the Play-In Tournament.
Pascal Siakam is playing at an All-NBA level, averaging 25 points, nine rebounds, and five assists through six games.
Meanwhile, Aaron Nesmith and Bennedict Mathurin are expected to be contenders for the Most Improved Player award this season.
And then there is Quenton Jackson, who will be determined to prove that his performance against the Warriors was not a flash in the pan.
