Former NBA champion Paul Pierce is having a fierce battle off the court, and the price he’ll end up paying will undoubtedly dig a deep hole inside his pockets.
Pierce, who spent the majority of his NBA career with the Boston Celtics, has fathered a child with Princess Santiago. He has done the paternity test, which confirmed that the child is his. While he seeks joint custody, Santiago wants to raise the child alone, plus pay for her fees and a massive monthly child support.
“A woman in California is demanding nearly $29K/month in child support from Paul Pierce after he admitted paternity of his 2-month-old child,” per TMZ. “Pierce is seeking joint custody, while she’s requesting sole custody, $100K in legal fees, and nearly $19K in pregnancy expenses,” the report added.

It’s important to note that Pierce has earned over 200 million during his entire NBA career. The court will inarguably consider that information in its future ruling.
The Boston Celtics entered this year’s playoffs as a dark-horse contender. Jaylen Brown, despite not finishing near the top of the MVP race, has been playing as one. Plus, Jayson Tatum has slowly shaken the rust off after being sidelined for ten months. And for Paul Pierce, he’s not worried a bit about his former team’s series against Philadelphia.
“Like, seriously we haven’t lost to them. The last time they beat us in the playoffs was 82. Like, a lot of people who are watching this show wasn’t even born. I was five years old. When I saw Sixers vs Celtics, I was like, I usually go to the Celtics first round I don’t even want to waste that trip. I really didn’t want to waste that trip because I know, I know.” Pierce said.
After Pierce’s comments, the Celtics-Sixers series is now tied at 1-1. But despite Boston’s surprising tumble in game two, they are still favored to advance in the second round.
