Andrew Wiggins has been recently linked to a potential move to the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason, but it’s unlikely to happen anytime soon. According to an anonymous NBA executive, Miami Heat president Pat Riley is reluctant to make the move due to his frosty relationship with LeBron James.

“I would be stunned if Pat did this trade,” the executive told Ashish Mathur of Lakers Daily. “You really think Pat wants to help LeBron (James)? He’s still mad about LeBron leaving Miami. I don’t see it happening.”

James played for the Miami Heat from 2010 to 2014 and won two NBA championships. However, Riley was reportedly disappointed with James’ surprising decision to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Los Angeles Lakers’ desire to acquire Andrew Wiggins from the Miami Heat makes sense because they plan to shore up their perimeter defense around Luka Doncic.

Miami Heat News: Davion Mitchell earns huge shoutout from former NBA All-Defense guard

Earning the moniker “Off Night,” Davion Mitchell has built a reputation as one of the league’s underrated two-way players. Former NBA journeyman Tony Allen recently praised the Miami Heat combo guard during a recent appearance on Run It Back on FanDuel TV.

“There ain’t too many of them left. When I played, the league was going in ‘shoot the three’ and all the defensive guys was out of there,” Allen explained.

“If I could say I like anybody that I like watching, my man Davion Mitchell. He locks up, man. I keep in tune with him a lot, but this is my chance to give him a shoutout,” he added.
