The New Orleans Pelicans are hosting the LA Clippers on Friday night, and star forward Zion Williamson will be available. Injuries have been an issue for Williamson to start his career, but he has remained mostly healthy this season, having missed just six games so far.
While six games missed this season may seem a bit high considering January just started, Williamson has already matched his total games played from last season, and has already surpassed his total games played from his rookie season. Through five seasons in the NBA, Williamson's career high in games played is 61 during the 2020-21 season. Set to play his 30th game of the year on Friday vs. the Clippers, Williamson will have already achieved his second-most games played in a season, surpassing last year's 29 games played.
While a lot of Williamson's numbers are down across the board, most notably his 22.1 PPG which is a career low, the Pelicans are just happy to see him on the court. New Orleans has begun turning their season around after a rocky stretch, having won four-straight games, including seven of their last 10.
Having dominated the Clippers in recent seasons, New Orleans is looking to keep that going in this one. For LA, they are hoping to finally overcome their usual struggles vs. this team.
