Alabama’s loss to Florida State sent ripples across the country which have also made it to the White House.
During a recent press conference in Huntsville announcing that it would be the new head quarters for U.S. Space Command, President Donald Trump had some fun at the expense of the Crimson Tide.
When referencing Alabama senator Tommy Tubberville, Trump slyly mentioned he would not bring up what happened during the Crimson Tide’s loss.
“Tuberbille, who’s a great coach — I won’t say anything about what happened with Alabama football this weekend, but you’re not used to that, right?” Trump said.
But Tubberville, the former Auburn head coach, was quick to share that the Tigers had won as well.
“Auburn won, that’s right,” Trump said. “So you’re happy.”
Alabama suffered a 31-17 loss to Florida State last Saturday, its first defeat during week one of the season since 2001. The loss saw the Crimson Tide slide from No. 8 in the AP Poll, all the way back to No. 21.
Simultaneously, Auburn was able to handidly secure a win againsy Baylor 38-24 kicking off the 2025 season on the right foot.
