Every year in the NFL there are a number of breakout players. Sometimes they go from average to good but sometimes they go from good to great. Today we will be giving out two players who are dark horses to lead the league in different categories.
Let’s give our official bold predictions before NFL Week One.
Logan’s Pick – Abdul Carter, NYG
Brian Burns has been the main Sack artist in New York the last few seasons which in return is going to help Carter here. After showing some dominant flashes in his Rookie season, I would not be surprised to see Carter turn out more production. Lets not forget how good of a prospect he was.
Logan’s Pick – Omarion Hampton, LAC
The Chargers offense should be one of the more fun units in the league. Mike McDaniels gets a lot of credit for his creative offenses but they do not realize how much of that is in the run game. Hampton is in a great spot to have a big year due to the scheme and talent around him.
Logan’s Pick – Caleb Williams
While everyone knows how talented Caleb Williams is it is still very difficult to lead the league in passing yards. The Bears have a GREAT offensive minded head coach and a ton of weapons. What gives me hope for Williams here is how bad I think the Bears defense will be which will force them to score more points
Daniel’s Picks – Zay Flowers, BAL
858 receiving yards 1,059 receiving yards and then 1,211 receiving yards in his first three NFL seasons, and this has the chance to be an extremely fruitful season for Flowers. This may be a run first offense but he has no target competition and with a new offensive coordinator Declan Doyle we could see a JSN type jump in his career.
Logan’s Pick – DeVonta Smith, PHI
A lot has been made about AJ Brown being traded to New England and not a lot of hype around Smith. I do not think the Eagles would make a move like that if they did not have full confidence in the player Smith could be. He should demand more targets and be more of a focal point in this offense leading to a huge year.
