The San Francisco 49ers announced two roster moves ahead of their Week 6 matchup against the Washington Commanders at Levi's Stadium on Monday night.

The team elevated the following players from the practice squad, making them available for the game:

The 49ers also downgraded wide receiver Christian Kirk from questionable to out, confirming that he will not be activated for the primetime matchup.

San Francisco opened Kirk's practice window last week, raising hopes that the receiver could return against Washington. However, Kirk will have to wait at least another week to make his 49ers debut after recovering from a calf injury that sidelined him throughout training camp and landed him on injured reserve.

Kirk recently discussed his progress and expressed confidence in his recovery.

"Just felt like I kind of got over that hump and feeling like myself again," Kirk said. "Body starting to respond to just the training and the recovery and whatnot. And so, just wanted to communicate that to them, and tell them that I was ready to go, and get back out there."

Head coach Kyle Shanahan wouldn't verbally commit to activating Kirk ahead of the Week 6 contest. The 49ers ultimately decided to delay the move, leaving the veteran receiver sidelined for at least one more game.
