The San Francisco 49ers had a disappointing 2024 season, as they finished dead last in the NFC West with a 6-11 record. But Brock Purdy will be looking to lead them right back to the playoffs this season to redeem themselves.
The NFL Most Valuable Player Award is the prize that everyone wants and chases after over the course of the season, and the 49ers star quarterback may have a shot at competing for it this season.
According to Sharp Football Analysis, the 49ers have the easiest schedule in the NFL in 2025 by a pretty wide margin. This means that Purdy will hopefully be looking good while the teams wins some games.
But if you look towards the end of the season, that is where the 25-year-old field general will really get to shine.
After their BYE in Week 14, the Niners will face the Tennessee Titans, the Indianapolis Colts, the Chicago Bears, and then they finish their season off at home against the division rival Seattle Seahawks. The thing is, only one of those four teams had a winning record in 2024.
It's the last portion of the season that will have a big impact on who wins the MVP, and Purdy could be looking really good as the season winds down.
It would also be a good story, especially with Purdy being the very last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. If he is able to win the MVP Award, he will go from 'Mr. Irrelevant' to 'Mr. Relevant' very quickly.
