49ers Brock Purdy Offers 2-Word Response to Top-10 QB Debate

No player is walking around the Bay Area with their chest held as high as San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy right now.

The 25 year old quarterback just inked a five-year, $265 million contract with the team that memorably drafted him dead last in the 2022 NFL Draft.

A couple deep playoff runs later - including one Super Bowl berth - Purdy has become the highest-paid player in 49ers history with an average annual salary of $53 million.

As it typically does when a quarterback climbs the annual-salary charts with a new deal, the debate of whether he is deserving of his ranked income ensues.

Purdy's $53 million per year figure ranks him as the seventh-highest paid quarterback - and player - in the NFL. He is tied with the Detroit Lions' Jared Goff and measily $100,000 behind sixth place Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins.

San Francisco's signal-caller appeared on the Murph & Markus show on KNBR to give his answer to the debate of whether he is a top-10 quarterback in the NFL. His response was straight to the point:

"Yes, sir," he said.

He was asked to elaborate, but Purdy wisely kept things humble.

We could expect this confidence and no-hesitation response after reports said that Purdy walked into the negotiation meetings with the 49ers and requested a would-be NFL record $65 million per year contract.

"Yeah, for sure, I think I'm a top 10 quarterback," Purdy added. "I'll leave it at that. I'm not going to create a list or anything right now."

Fair enough. He's letting his money do the talking ... and we don't blame him.

Purdy and will now have a $265 million target on his back as he looks to rebound from a dreadful 6-11 season and prove his worth.

Thankfully for him and his team full of highly-paid weapons, the Niners will face the easiest schedule in the entire league this season.
