San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa continues to fall in the NFL Top 100 Players ranking, coming in at No. 57 on the 2025 list. That marks a 30-spot drop from last year (No. 27) and a steep decline compared to 2023, when Bosa ranked No. 4.
Bosa is the second 49ers player revealed on this year's list, joining running back Christian McCaffrey, who landed at No. 73.
The 49ers' defensive line looks very different heading into the 2025 season, with Bosa now the lone returning starter. The unit underwent a major overhaul this offseason, parting ways with several veteran contributors while adding rookie standouts Mykel Williams, Alfred Collins, and CJ West.
Despite still being regarded as one of the NFL's premier pass rushers, Bosa's production dipped during the injury-plagued 2024 season. He failed to record double-digit sacks for the first time since 2020, finishing with nine sacks, 52 tackles (15 for a loss), 24 quarterback hits, one interception, one pass defensed, and one forced fumble in 14 starts, per Pro Football Reference.
According to Pro Football Focus, Bosa generated 69 quarterback pressures in 2024—his lowest total over the past four seasons. He missed three games due to hip and oblique injuries.
Still, being ranked among the NFL's Top 100 Players remains a significant honor. The list is unique in that it is voted on by fellow players, factoring in past performance and expectations for the upcoming season. This year's ranking marks the 15th edition of the series.
