The 2025 NFL draft is set to begin with the first round on Thursday night. John Lynch and the San Francisco 49ers are in need of bringing in an elite young class of fresh talent.

Lynch and company had a tough offseason. They lost a lot of key pieces and will need to replace those pieces through the draft and via free agents or trades.

Currently, the 49ers hold the No. 11 overall pick in the first round. With that pick, Lynch should be able to land a key player for the future.

While the draft order has not been shaken up by trades just yet, Lynch spoke out with his expectations for draft night. He thinks fans might not see much action from a trade perspective.

Matt Barrows of The Athletic revealed what Lynch had to say about potential trades on draft night.

"John Lynch said he's not anticipating a lot of trades early in the draft because everybody wants to trade down," Barrows wrote on X. "He said the strength of the draft is its depth and that there will be starters available at the beginning of Day 3."

If Lynch is correct, fans around the league should be preparing for a standard draft night.

As for what Lynch and San Francisco could do at No. 11, there are quite a few predictions that have been made.

CBS Sports analyst Bryan DeArdo released a new mock draft on Tuesday that had the 49ers selecting Georgia edge rusher Jalon Walker with the pick. Walker has been linked to San Francisco on many occasions over the last couple of months.

Fans won't have to wait much longer to find out about the 49ers' plans and what the rest of the NFL chooses to do when it comes to draft night trades.
