49ers kick off Phase 3 of offseason program with OTAs
Robert Kupbens-USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco 49ers are among 20 teams that begin the third phase of the offseason program today. NFL teams are allowed to hold up to 10 days of organized team activities (OTAs). While live contact between players during these practices remains prohibited, 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills are allowed.

While Phase 3 remains voluntary, the 49ers will conclude their offseason program with a mandatory minicamp scheduled for June 10–11. Following that, the team will break until the start of training camp in late July.

Media access begins Thursday, May 29, offering the first opportunity to observe practice and speak with players and coaches. Head coach Kyle Shanahan is scheduled to address reporters following the session.

Next week, additional members of the coaching staff will meet with the media, including defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, who is scheduled to speak on Wednesday, June 4.
