San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Piñeiro has been named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week following his clutch Week 5 performance against the Los Angeles Rams.

Piñeiro was perfect in the 49ers' 26-23 overtime victory on Thursday Night Football, converting all four of his field goal attempts from 20, 37, 41, and 59 yards, along with both of his extra points. His 41-yard field goal gave San Francisco the lead in overtime, while his 59-yarder stood as the longest made kick in the NFL during Week 5.
This marks Piñeiro's fourth career Special Teams Player of the Week award and his first with the 49ers. He joins Robbie Gould (seven-time winner) and Jake Moody (Week 1, 2024) as the only San Francisco kickers to claim the honor in the past decade.
Piñeiro's Player of the Week honors:
With this award, Piñeiro surpasses Evan McPherson (three-time winner) for the most Special Teams Player of the Week honors ever earned by a former Florida Gator kicker.
