San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch announced Tuesday that the team plans to sign wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown. The veteran pass catcher was one of six wideouts who worked out for the team on Monday as the 49ers opened training camp.

The Green Bay Packers initially selected St. Brown (6-5, 214) out of Notre Dame in the sixth round (No. 207 overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. He has since played for the Packers, Chicago Bears, and New Orleans Saints.

Over six NFL seasons—excluding 2019, when he did not appear in a game—St. Brown has totaled 63 receptions for 928 yards and two touchdowns. He is the older brother of Detroit Lions All-Pro receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.

The move comes after the 49ers placed wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Ricky Pearsall on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list last week. Aiyuk's placement was anticipated, as he continues to recover from ACL and MCL injuries suffered in October 2024. Lynch noted that Pearsall's stint on the PUP list is expected to be short-term.
