The San Francisco 49ers will face off against the Las Vegas Raiders in both teams' respective preseason finale on Friday night at Allegiant Stadium. The cross-bay rivals will be hoping to wrap up the preseason with a flourish, with neither team holding a winning record so far this summer.

Let's preview the game and dive into my 49ers vs. Raiders predictions and NFL picks for Friday's preseason Week 3 game.

Sam Farley's 49ers vs. Raiders Preview

Neither the 49ers or Raiders have had a great preseason. The 49ers are 1-1 and have dealt with plenty of questions around wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, while the Raiders have struggled and have lost both their preseason matchups.

We now know that the Raiders starter is Gardner Minshew with Antonio Pierce explaining that the journeyman had beaten out 2023 fourth-round pick Aidan O'Connell for the starting job. The main reason used was Minshew's experience and his leadership, sadly the team will be without that for this preseason finale, with Pierce also confirming that the starters won't play. That means we should see O'Connell under center, as well as Bradley Carter and potentially even Nathan Peterman, who signed as a free agent last week.

The 49ers know who'll be starting the season at QB, but most interestingly we have confirmation from Kyle Shanahan that Brock Purdy and the rest of the starters will play a part in Friday's game. Playing starters in the finale is something that Shanahan has form for, so it's worth taking him at his word here. The market certainly is, with the spread seeing large movement since the opening.

My 49ers vs. Raiders Prediction: Bet the 49ers to Cover 1st Quarter Spread

Shanahan has told us that we're going to see starters against the Raiders. However, how long they'll be on the field remains unknown. To combat that fact, we're going to take the 49ers -0.5 in the first quarter, that should cover us if we only see Purdy and company play a couple of series.

49ers vs Raiders Pick: 49ers 1Q -0.5 (+102)
