Former Los Angeles Rams star Aaron Donald was challenged to a workout by a current player, and he is not taking that challenge lying down.
Rams linebacker Jared Verse called out Donald and said the legendary defensive tackle was “not ready” for a modern workout. Donald issued a firm response on social media.
“I’m looking for you, Verse,” Donald said. “Come to the house. I just want to talk, that’s it. Just a little conversation. A little weights, do a little cardio, the old man retirement workout. Put you through it, see what you can do.”
After Jared Verse challenged Aaron Donald to work out with him (“he’s not ready for that”), Donald responds by inviting him over to his home to put him through “the old man retirement workout.”

Verse took Donald up on the challenge, telling him to name a date and time and challenging Donald to a “young man workout” afterward.

Verse is not one to back down from a confrontation, even when Donald is involved. Donald has been retired for a full season, but he remains in excellent shape, and Verse probably will not find this to be easy.
At the very least, Verse might be able to back up the talk. The reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year had 66 tackles and 4.5 sacks for the Rams last season, helping fill the void left behind by Donald’s retirement.
