Aaron Donald works out with Rams again

The Los Angeles Rams and Aaron Donald continue flirting with each other, ahead of the 2026 NFL season. Los Angeles brought Donald in for yet another workout, per The 33rd Team.

Donald is taking a possible return to the NFL very seriously.

“He’s put himself in a position to be able to say yes or no,” Rams head coach Sean McVay told reporters according to the Los Angeles Times, and reported by ESPN. “I think he’s earned that right to have clarity on that. We’re not at that point quite yet.”

Donald played for years for the Rams, before retiring in 2024. He helped the franchise win a Super Bowl. Rams fans are waiting anxiously to hear if he will run it back with the team.

“We have some loose things where we’ve identified you know dates that we’d like to be able to hit,” McVay said. “But what I don’t want to have is any sort of unnecessary pressure on him if there’s some unforeseen circumstances.”

Donald already worked out once for Los Angeles this summer. Reports indicated that went very well. In his NFL career, Donald posted 111 sacks and established himself as a dominant defensive tackle.

Rams coaches feel adding Donald with Myles Garrett would certainly be something special. Donald was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year three times in his career.

“I feel great about our football team as it currently stands, and I know he’ll add value if he decides to come,” McVay said.

The Rams already started their NFL preseason games. Los Angeles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in their first contest. The Rams next play the New Orleans Saints on August 22, in another preseason clash.
