Aaron Glenn's Jets 'Building Block' An Easy Choice

New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn has gone about his business with aplomb this offseason, cleaning up the mess left by the previous regime and trying to instill his way of doing things.

Not many are expecting much from the Jets in 2025, and that is fine; they aren't expected to seriously challenge. This year is all about building the right foundation and creating a culture that, in a few years, will be key in the franchise finally seeing some success.

To do that, you need a group of players to build around and to help bring that vision to life. For Bleacher Report, the promising building block New York and Glenn have is Garrett Wilson.

"For now, Garrett Wilson is still on his rookie deal, though the New York Jets could give him a pay raise within the next few months," Bleacher Report writes. "He's earned it.

"Wilson will reunite with his former Ohio State teammate, Justin Fields, who signed a two-year deal with the Jets. If they can rekindle chemistry from their collegiate years, Wilson could post receiving numbers that are indicative of his true production ceiling."

That's an easy choice, right? We think so, although Sauce Gardner is another great option, but given how little else the offense has outside of Wilson (maybe Breece Hall) in terms of genuine firepower, nailing your colors to Wilson's mast is smart business.

Of course, what else is smart is locking down No. 5 to a long-term contract, something that is thought to be in the works this offseason, and while we aren't sure of the timeline, there is hope that the two sides will come together and agree on something.

The Jets, at this stage of yet another rebuild, can't afford to lose someone who could easily be seen as their best player.

Especially when they are viewed as a foundational building block.
