After remaining mostly quiet about his plans this offseason, Aaron Rodgers joined " The Joe Rogan Experience" for a monstrous three-hour interview with the podcasting giant in which the two discussed a myriad of topics.
And while Rodgers' NFL future wasn't one of them, the four-time MVP did appear to drop a hint as to why he has yet to make decision on joining the Steelers towards the end of their conversation.
"I've figured it out the last year when I've been in the weeds with these people who are close to me that have cancer," Rodgers revealed.
The 41-year-old had previously hinted during an appearance on the "Pat McAfee Show" that he was dealing with some things in his personal life at that moment — and this certainly seems to fall in line with that.
In his sit-down with the former Colts punter, Rodgers admitted that football isn't exactly taking up a lot of his focus right now.
"I mean it's a small percentage," the QB admitted. "Because the conversations have been had. There's no more contemplation. I'm taking care of my people right now, and I'm taking care of my personal life responsibilities, and I'm keeping the conversation open as well."
"I'm in a serious relationship," he added. "I have off-the-field stuff going on that requires my attention. I have personal commitments I have made. I have a couple of people in my inner, inner circle who are battling some difficult stuff. So, I have a lot of things that are taking my attention."
Some wondered if Rodgers secretly got married when he showed up to the Kentucky Derby with a band on his wedding finger — something that ex-teammate A.J. Hawk is still confused about.
Regardless, it still doesn't sound like there's any firm timetable as to when Aaron could make his decision. But all the seats are taken, and there's only one realistic option if he still wants to play NFL football in 2025.
