Aaron Rodgers should be the 2022 MVP favorite

Every NFL season is different. It is understandable to think that the MVP voters and the NFL as a whole might want to see some change when it comes to who receives the Most Valuable Player Award. However, that should not cause the voters to make the wrong decision because they want to see someone new at the top. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has won back-to-back MVPs in the last two seasons. He is the best quarterback in the league. He should once again be the favorite for the most prestigious award in the National Football League.

No. 12 is coming off another elite season. It was one that continues to prove why he is the most prolific passer while still being the most efficient. He threw 37 touchdowns to just four interceptions, which is absurd. That ratio comes in at just over nine touchdowns to just one interception. He does not turn the ball over. The California native threw for over 4,000 yards for the fifth time in the last six seasons while also rushing for three touchdowns in his age-38 season. He led the league in QBR at 111.9, which is the fourth time he has done that in his historic career. He led his team to a 13 wins for the third consecutive season en route to the No. 1 overall seed in the playoffs.

People can complain about Rodgers not playing as well as he could've in the postseason. But, it doesn't help when your special teams and run defense have let you down in the last few years. If great quarterbacks are playing well in the postseason all the time, there is something wrong with the league. Rodgers has a winning record in the postseason (11-10) and is one of the highest-rated passers since his first season starting back in 2008 (QBR of 100.1). He is a Super Bowl champion, a Super Bowl MVP and a four-time league MVP, including two coming in the last two seasons. He will have to do it this year without All-Pro receiver Davante Adams, who left for Las Vegas this offseason. But if there is anyone who is capable of guiding this Packers team to another great season en route to a Super Bowl, it's the should-be MVP favorite Aaron Rodgers.
