Absolutely Hate the Signing of Malik Willis!

Well, Dolphin Fans, the roller coaster off-season continues!

We were looking for a complete rebuild, and now that has just changed.

I have so many thoughts on this, I almost don’t know where to start.

First, I didn’t want to sign Malik Willis because I knew it would cost at least 17-25 million a year, and there would be no true QB competition this year.  This means you are all in with him for at least this year, possibly two.  I watched just about every game he played and every throw the past 2 years with Green Bay.

I’m sorry, he did make some nice plays, but I just don’t see it.  Can I be wrong?

Sure!

Why waste your time with him when you have 4-6 topflight QB’s in the draft next year with an extremely tough schedule?

Most likely, you are going to pick in the top 5.  Now this could change!  What if Malik just plays ok and they win 7-8 games?

Now you’re fighting to get into the top 3 picks for a QB?

I wanted to trade for Will Levis and have a QB competition with Quinn Ewers, while drafting a QB this year and next year, or even signing a veteran to compete with Ewers.  That is what our new GM and coach said.

Our new GM and head coach have hitched their wagon to Malik as if they believe he can be a franchise QB.

You don’t make this move if you don’t.  This shouldn’t be about putting fans in seats either.  If that is the case, it’s back to the same old Dolphins.

Additionally, you now have to start building the offense faster to get Malik the horses he needs to succeed.  To me, that means running the football and the trenches immediately.

That 1st round pick at 11 is going to be an offensive lineman or a trade down, instead of the best player available.

We have zero offensive line depth!  I get free agency isn’t done yet, but we have no money to spend on these positions, let alone re-sign some of our free agents! News flash: we can’t draft rookies for every position!

Have you seen our wide receiver and tight end room?

You build your team through the draft, keying on the trenches, then you get the QB when the pieces are in place, not the opposite.

I might be in the minority here, but it’s just how I see it.

Finally, I do respect the conviction on this guy, and I know everyone says he is a great kid.  Not questioning that.

They just better be right.
