Absolutely Hate the Signing of Malik Willis – PART II

Ok.  Typically, I don’t come back to an article I’ve written and change my perspective, or even rethink it.

I have listened to other perspectives, and while some do agree with my take, others do not.

Of course, that is just fine.

It’s with the other perspectives that made me rethink it.

I do think the main reason for me for feeling the way I did in my original article is that I could not see Malik Willis simply blowing me away in his performance, with a limited talent team, not wanting to take a top QB next year, or stop us from getting pick one or two.

But the truth is that would be the best-case scenario, and he should be given the chance to prove it!  When you have a bunch of young QB’s coming out next year with one named Manning, and you haven’t had a franchise QB since Marino, you can easily be jaded.  I simply didn’t want to miss the chance to take the best QB available.

I understand what GM Sully is trying to do here.  They have a conviction in him, and I respect that.

The option for an early QB is still on the table if Malik doesn’t show us enough.  You keep throwing darts at the target till you hit the bullseye!

Willis’s contract isn’t hurting the cap and is really only a two-year contract when you look at it.  He still has to fill out a talent-less roster fast.

Drafting and coaching will be at an all-time high this first season as we build a winning culture.  The draft class from last year really has to step up its game and make a name for itself for this to really take off.

I will be rooting for anyone who dons a Miami Dolphin uniform.  That will never change.

After listening to Malik’s first media session today, boy am I pulling for this young man!!!!!!

Go Dolphins!!
