Adam Butler reveals if he wants to return to Raiders

Adam Butler is a big reason why the Las Vegas Raiders defensive line was decent in the 2024 NFL season. He had moments in the game when he made big stops against the run and even got to the quarterback.

Despite the 4-13 record, Butler hopes to continue to wear the Silver and Black colors after discussing his time with the Raiders with Sports Illustrated Raiders insider Hondo Carpenter. Butler watched when head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Spytek were introduced at a news conference in early January. He hopes to continue his NFL career with the Raiders.

"It really would be a dream come true," Butler told Carpenter. "It would be the perfect situation for me in my opinion. I love the team, I love the organization and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else."

Butler is an unrestricted free agent after re-signing with the Raiders last season. When defensive tackle Christian Wilkins was lost for the season because of a foot injury, Butler stepped in and filled the role and became one of the vocal leaders on defense under defensive coordinator Patrick Graham.

This past season, Butler had five sacks, one forced fumble and two pass deflections along with 65 tackles while the Raiders finished 13th against the run (116.9 yards per game).

The Raiders need to solidify their interior rush and signing Butler is a must to give the Raiders familiarity and continuity under Graham. After all, Butler said he enjoys playing with four-time Pro Bowler Maxx Crosby. It is up to the new regime to decide if they want to re-sign Butler to a new deal and give the Raiders a fierce interior line into the 2025 NFL season.
