One of the biggest storylines of the Falcons’ OTAs isn’t Michael Penix Jr. taking over in Atlanta or even their potential star rookie pass rushers in Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr.; it’s been about Kyle Pitts.
First, it was about his absence, which was explained through a report from James Palmer that Pitts was at Flowery Branch but dealing with a foot injury.
Then, it was about the mysterious injury, which Raheem Morris only poured more gasoline on, telling Atlanta reporters that the Falcons were going to be extremely cautious with Pitts without divulging further details.
Now, Adam Schefter is disclosing that Kyle Pitts is dealing with a strained muscle in his foot.

Soft tissue injuries are always tricky, but you don’t see a strained foot muscle much around the league. It’s usually hamstrings, groins, or other lower body injuries.
Still, it seems like it’s not going to be a lingering issue for Kyle Pitts, who is entering the final year of his rookie deal. Contract years tend to have a positive impact on players’ performances, so any type of setback for Pitts would be brutal for his chances of garnering a big free agent contract next offseason.
