AFC Super Bowl Contender Named 'Best Landing Spot' for DK Metcalf
Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn

Star wide receiver DK Metcalf, who requested a trade from the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday, is likely to find himself on a new team in 2025.

Through his first six seasons in the NFL, the two-time Pro Bowler has accumulated 438 receptions for 6,324 yards and 48 touchdowns, so there's likely to be a number of teams interested in him.

Of course, only one can have him, and Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports has named the Buffalo Bills as the "best landing spot."

"It's hard to fathom the possibility of Metcalf catching passes from Josh Allen, the league's reigning MVP who is coming off the best year of his career," DeArdo wrote . "But if the stars do happen to align, Metcalf and Allen could be a rerun of the historic partnership that Randy Moss and Tom Brady enjoyed when they became teammates in 2007."

It would be a huge addition for the Bills, whose top wide receiver in 2024 was Khalil Shakir, who had 76 receptions for 821 yards and four touchdowns.

Metcalf was a bit more efficient with 66 receptions for 982 yards and five touchdowns, so he could immediately come in and be the top target for Allen.

However, to get him, DeArdo thinks the Bills would need to give up the No. 29 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and then sign him to a three-year, $93 million extension.

All of that could be worth it, though, because a player like Metcalf could help in Buffalo's bid to reach the Super Bowl for the first time since January 1994. The Bills have the fourth-best Super Bowl odds at +700, per ESPN Bet.
