 Alabama wide receiver expected to retire from football

Legendary Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper has decided that his NFL journey has come to an end.

Cooper informed the Las Vegas Raiders that he itends to retire according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoprt.

Cooper played 10 season with the NFL originally beginning his career with Raiders before having stints with the Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills. This offseason, Cooper resigned to the team that drafted but has ultimately decided to hang things up.

After originally being selected No. 4 overall in the 2015 NFL Draft, Cooper would go on to become a five time Pro Bowl receiver amassing 711 receptions, 10,033 yards and 64 touchdowns across 154 career games.

Prior to his time in the NFL, Cooper solidified himself as an Alabama legend. In his three years with the Crimson Tide, Cooper aided the program to a national championship win during his freshman season, and would be named an All-American in 2014.

Cooper currently ranks second all-time in receiving yards (3,965), receiving touchdowns (31) and receptions (235) at Alabama.
