Alvin Kamara Hints At Surprising Top Pick For Saints Head Coach

The New Orleans Saints went just 5-12 in 2024, marking their worst season since 2005 when they went 3-13.

They started the season 2-7, and after their Week 9 loss to the Carolina Panthers, the team decided to move on from head coach Dennis Allen, who'd accumulated an 18-25 record since taking over in 2022.

Since the season ended, New Orleans has quickly begun looking for a new head coach and has already interviewed big names such as Eagles OC Kellen Moore, Bills OC Joe Brady, and Lions DC Aaron Glenn.

However, star running back Alvin Kamar has made his pick for who he wants very clear.

"Aite my vote for head coach rhyme wit Fizzi…" he said via X.

He's, of course, referring to Darren Rizzi, who served as the team's interim head coach after firing Allen.

It's certainly an interesting choice considering the other potential candidates mentioned above and with Rizzi at the helm, the Saints still played poorly, going 3-5.

That included four straight losses to end the season and an embarrassing 34-0 shutout to the Green Bay Packers in Week 16.

However, to aid Kamra's choice, Rizzi does have extensive experience with the Saints, starting there in 2019 as the special team coordinator.

He was also promoted to assistant head coach in 2022, which was a position he held until taking over for Allen.
