There have always been unique players that have played throughout the entire history of the NFL. However, there has never been a player like Raiders George Blanda.

George Blanda started his pro football career back in 1949. He played for the Chicago Bears and later became one of the top players in the league with the Houston Oilers from 1960-1966. 

George Blanda was a unique player. He was a unique player because he played quarterback and placekicker. During his time with the Raiders, he completed 119 of 235 pass attempts for 1,835 yards. He also had a total of 23 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. Blanda played 126 games with the Raiders and had one career start at quarterback. He was also a 1967 Raiders AFL Championship team member that lost to the Green Bay Packers in Superbowl II. 

Blanda was also a kicker for the Raiders. He made 156 of 249 field goal attempts as a Raider. He also made 395 of 403 on extra-point attempts. He finished with 863 points as a Raider, which is 2nd all-time in Raider history. A career game for Geroge Blanda was on October 25th, 1970. The Raiders played the Pittsburgh Steelers in this game. Blanda came off the bench for the Raiders and started at quarterback, where he threw three touchdowns. He also kicked a field goal to beat the Steelers, 31-14, leading to a Raiders victory. He was also named AFC Player of the Year after the 1970 NFL season.

George Blander is the oldest player, who has played in the NFL. He played a total of 26 seasons in the NFL and retired at the age of 48. Blanda was also inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1981. He will forever be a Raider player to remember.
