The Houston Texans are starting to upset some of their biggest rivals. They have made some very, very good moves this offseason. They haven't made as splashy of moves as most expected, like going for Christian Wilkins or Saquon Barkley, but they have easily made their roster better.
Most of the moves we did see in free agency from the Texans were on the defensive side of the ball. They did re-sign wide receiver Noah Brown, and they could very well end up cutting wide receiver Robert Woods; however, the Texans understood where the bulk of the work on their roster needed to go.
The Texans did add Danielle Hunter to supplement the loss of Jonathan Greenard, as well as Joe Mixon. But they also had a very underrated addition that fans are glossing over. It was a great one, and it makes even more sense when you realize that his former teammates are pissed about it.
The Texans signed former Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Denico Autry to help bolster the defensive line. His name isn't splashy by any means, but he fits exactly what the Texans want to do. Before the Texans traded away defensive tackle Maliek Collins to the San Francisco 49ers, the Texans were viewed as an elite defensive line because of the Autry addition. However, now that Collins is no longer on the team, they are still considered to be a much better defensive line than last season's bad line.
Autry's former teammate, defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, took to Twitter to express how upset he was that his former teammate was going to his biggest rival.
No way we let Nico go to the Texans…. ♂️♂️

There is a reason his former teammate is mad: it's because they know their biggest rival has a really good player, and now they have to play them twice a year. The Texans are making moves, and some of their biggest moves are the ones their division rivals don't like.
