Analyst offers amazing prediction about Aidan Hutchinson's future with Lions

The Detroit Lions appeared to have an award winner in the making in defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, but unfortunately, a critical injury intervened during the 2024 season and shut him down.

Now, heading into 2025, everyone is hoping that Hutchinson is able to rebound and show his good form again. While Hutchinson has looked fantastic in practice and is itching to go, it's hard to say how he will look at regular season game speed.

Many don't believe Hutchinson's return is anything to worry about. In fact, the Lions could be set to reap the biggest reward now for having the star defender in the next two seasons according to ESPN.

In a piece predicting the future of teams across the league, the Lions were revealed to be a team with a top-five bright future. Mostly, that's due to how their roster is contstructed, with plenty of young stars in tow.

Hutchinson is one of those players, and analyst Seth Walder has offered a bold prediction for his future. Walder believes that Hutchinson is poised to become the NFL's next defensive star, winning two Player of the Year awards by 2027.

"(Aidan) Hutchinson will win two Defensive Player of the Year awards between now and 2027. Before he was injured in 2024, he put up a 35% pass rush win rate over five games. No qualifying player even reached 27%, let alone 35%."

That means the 2025 and 2026 season will be fantastic for Hutchinson at a time the Lions need it the most. If Hutchinson was able to be the best defender in the league the next two seasons, that would be a big deal for Detroit's needy pass rush. It would mean that the Lions likely have a big season on tap with major production up front.

The reason the Lions are geared for success is the way Brad Holmes has drafted. Holmes has managed to find not only quality depth pieces for his roster, but future and current stars as well. That's possibly the biggest reason the Lions are geared toward having sustained success,

In the same piece, analyst Benjamin Solak admits he believes the biggest reason for hope is the leadership of Campbell along with the franchise's recent penchant for finding fantastic talent, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

"The Lions lost both coordinators this offseason, but Dan Campbell is one of the most trustworthy coaches in the league when it comes to elevating his team despite obstacles. Few teams can measure up against Detroit's offensive targets, but don't sleep on a defensive core of edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson, defensive tackle Alim McNeill, cornerback Terrion Arnold and safeties Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph."

Moving forward, a big challenge will be figuring out how to keep all the young players happy financially. In the next few years, Arnold and Branch will need new contracts in addition to Hutchinson and a few stars on the offensive side.

If the Lions can find a way to keep most of their young players happy while hitting on their future draft picks, that would go a long way toward helping them sustain success. Huchinson is quite likely the leader of this pack.
