Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs are currently in training camp at Missouri Western State University, preparing for the 2026 NFL season. Reid had his worst season as head coach in Kansas City, finishing 6-11 and missing the playoffs for the first time with Patrick Mahomes as his starting quarterback.
Tight end Travis Kelce is preparing for his 14th season in the league, coming off another strong season. The 6-foot-5 tight end had 76 catches for 851 yards and five touchdowns while playing all 17 games in 2025. The 36-year-old is coming off a summer in which he was the groom in a highly publicized wedding to superstar singer Taylor Swift at Madison Square Garden during the July 4 weekend.
On Tuesday, with NFL Network covering Kansas City's training camp, head coach Reid was asked about the wedding in New York City. The question was merely an opener to discuss Kelce and ask Reid how he has looked so far in training camp. Reid responded that Kelce is in good shape despite media reports, that he is focused, and that his effort is contagious to the rest of the team.
"Yeah, he came back in good shape," said Reid. "I know everyone out there is saying he's got the dad body, but he looks the same to me that he's always looked, and playing like crazy. So, he's doing a nice job with everything. He's focused and ready to go. I appreciate that. When you have somebody that has been here 14 years, that wants to be out there every snap, he's wired like this guy right here (gesturing to Carolina Panthers great Steve Smith) where he's gonna play, and play hard and aggressive, and not be stopped, and that's contagious."
