Kansas City Chiefs left tackle Josh Simmons remains absent from the team with a personal issue, and coach Andy Reid left many thinking that the rookie will not be back anytime soon.
Reid had to field more questions about Simmons’ status on Monday, but was still unwilling to discuss details. The Chiefs coach ultimately instructed reporters to “move on” from the topic.

Reid obviously is not at liberty to discuss what is happening with Simmons. However, his response had many people thinking the rookie tackle’s absence might be a lengthy one.
Simmons was ruled out of the Chiefs’ Oct. 12 game a few hours before kickoff with what the team has only described as a personal issue. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes said he was “praying” for Simmons, and reports indicated that the rookie is dealing with something “extremely serious.” Simmons has not played since, with Jaylon Moore taking over the starting job in his place.
Simmons, a former Ohio State star, fell in the first round of the draft due to injuries and supposed concerns about his work ethic. The Chiefs drafted him 32nd overall, and he has quickly become a quality starter at a position of need.
