GLENDALE – The Arizona Cardinals aren’t done just yet with signing free agents, bringing in a five-year veteran tight end to the team. Josiah Deguara signed a one-year deal with the franchise and is coming off a season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he appeared in 15 games.

Before the Jaguars, he spent four years with the Green Bay Packers, who drafted him in the 3rd round of the 2020 draft. The 28-year-old played in 50 games with the Packers, recording 47 catches for 436 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

What Deguara brings the Cardinals:

Deguara will be featured as a specials team guy for Arizona, as with Jacksonville he only saw 87 offensive snaps to 243 on specials teams. He hasn’t been used as an offensive piece since 2021, where Deguara had his best season with 245 receiving yards.

The Santa Rose, California native joins a competitive tight end room with Trey McBride, Tip Reiman, Elijah Higgins, Travis Vokolek and Oscar Cardenas. Deguara easily has the most experience amongst the Cardinals tight ends and will be a useful veteran voice to help lead and develop his new teammates.
