New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo was having a phenomenal rookie season before he was sidelined. He played in the first eight games of the Giants' season, totaling 101 carries for 410 yards and five touchdowns. He also caught 24 passes for 207 yards and two more scores.

Skattebo was selected in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Giants after an incredible senior year with the Arizona State Sun Devils.

Despite the impressive start to his NFL career, the 23-year-old's rookie season was cut short due to a season-ending ankle injury he sustained against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 8.

Since suffering the ankle injury, Skattebo has not shied away from the spotlight. He has hosted a number of Twitch streams with notable streamers, and he appeared at UFC and WWE events.

Fans of the rookie will have another chance to see him on Friday when his alma mater, Arizona State, takes on the rival Arizona Wildcats.

The Sun Devils announced before their rivalry week game against Arizona that Skattebo will be the team's honorary captain.

"Back in the Valley ‼️ Cam Skattebo will serve as our Honorary Captain this Friday for the Duel in the Desert!" the team wrote.

Skattebo spent an impressive two years with Arizona State after his first two years with the Sacramento State Hornets. In the 2023 and 2024 seasons with the Sun Devils, Skattebo totaled 457 carries for 2,494 yards and 30 touchdowns on the ground with 69 receptions for 891 yards and four more scores through the air.

In his senior year, after leading the conference in rushing attempts and yards, he finished fifth in Heisman Trophy balloting. He led the Sun Devils to their first College Football Playoff appearance, where they fell 39-31 to the Texas Longhorns in a double-overtime thriller.

No. 20 Arizona State (8-3, 6-2 Big 12) will host No. 25 Arizona (8-3, 5-3) at 9 p.m. ET on Friday at Mountain America Stadium on Fox.
