Head coach John Harbaugh and the Baltimore Ravens have been a big disappointment so far in the 2025 NFL season, having been dealt a long list of unfortunate injuries. That includes superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson, who returned this week during the 28 to 7 victory over the Miami Dolphins. As long as Jackson is healthy, this team still has more than enough talent to dig themselves out of their current hole. It is, however, going to be a tricky road back to a playoff run.
As of today, the Ravens would be selected very early in the 2026 NFL Draft, a position that they haven't been in for some time now. This is not a perfect roster in Baltimore, and general manager Eric DeCosta will have some work to do this offseason to plug several holes and strengthen other positions. In a recent 2-round mock draft over at A to Z Sports, Joe DeLeone and I did our best to do just that.
Whether it is DeCosta or previously under Ozzie Newsome, this organization has made it a habit to find value wherever they can. With their first round selection, No. 7 overall, they selected Miami EDGE Rueben Bain Jr., a player that most people believe is the top overall player in the 2026 class. Here is what I wrote about Bain and his potential fit in Baltimore.
Bain has played very good football for Miami this season, and his style feels like a great fit with the Ravens. His power profile is tremendous, as is his effort as a rusher. There are going to be some questions surrounding Bain’s ability to finish plays due to his lack of length, but he’s a player who will cause some chaos in the backfield regardless. – Roberts
For most people, they would see Bain landing with the Ravens, roll their eyes, and make comments about how we can't let this organization continue to get away with these things. I, personally, understand some concerns with Bain. In this class, however, he is a sure thing to go very early. Are 6-3 and 275 pounds, Bain is powerful and explosive, possessing a good floor as a power rusher and run stopper.
In the second round, the Ravens then selected Florida defensive tackle Caleb Banks with the No. 41 overall selection. The 6-6, 333-pound behemoth was projected to be a first round pick before the season, but unfortunately, he has missed the majority of the season due to injury. When healthy, Banks is a freaky athlete from the interior with worlds of potential. This could end up being a massive steal if healthy, quite literally.
