The Chicago Bears and RB D’Andre Swift have extended their time together. According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the Bears and Swift have agreed to a three-year extension worth $33.75 million. Of the total, $27.5 million of the contract is guaranteed.
After massive contracts were given out for Jahmyr Gibbs and Bijan Robinson, this deal feels perfect for both Swift and the Bears. Swift gets a slight yearly raise and cements himself as a key part of Ben Johnson’s backfield. Now, the Bears won’t have to worry about finding a new partner for Monangai.
Last season, Swift ran for 1,087 yards on 223 attempts. Swift also hauled in 34 passes for 299 yards through the air. In his Bears tenure, Swift has amassed 2,046 rushing yards and 685 receiving yards.
The Bears will take on the Panthers this Sunday at noon from Charlotte, NC.
