There are few names more recognizable connected to the Chicago Bears than former superstar linebacker and NFL Hall of Famer Brian Urlacher.

Urlacher embodied everything it meant to play for the Bears. He brought physicality, toughness, and elite skill to the field. Now, he’s no longer playing football, but he has remained vocal about the team that he was once the face of and is hoping to see another big offseason from Chicago.

Keeping that in mind, the Bears are fresh off of their best season in years. Led by head coach Ben Johnson and second-year quarterback Caleb Williams, Chicago won the NFC North and also made the playoffs as the No. 2 seed in the conference. The future is incredibly bright for the team moving forward.

Heading into the upcoming offseason, Urlacher wants to see the Bears pursue a blockbuster trade to go all-in on Super Bowl contention.

Brian Urlacher Suggested Blockbuster Trade for the Chicago Bears

Maxx Crosby has been mentioned on multiple occasions as a potential trade target for Chicago. That is a move that Urlacher would love to see the Bears make.

“I wish they would,” Urlacher said. “I’m such a huge fan of his. That dude plays the game the way it’s supposed to be played. He plays a million miles an hour every snap, doesn’t take plays off and he makes huge plays.”

Adding Crosby would make Chicago a much more serious contender. He is one of the best defensive players in football and would add to one of the only weaknesses that the Bears had last season.

During the 2025 NFL season with the Las Vegas Raiders, Crosby played in 15 games. The 28-year-old superstar racked up 73 total tackles to go along with 10 sacks, two forced fumbles, an interception, and six defended passes.

Throughout his entire 110-game NFL career, he has totaled 439 tackles, 69.5 sacks, 11 forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, an interception, and 29 defended passes. Those numbers would increase Chicago’s ceiling dramatically entering the 2026 season.

Only time will tell if the Bears seriously pursue a trade for Crosby. A deal would make sense for Chicago, but Ryan Poles may not be willing to pay the high price tag the Raiders will place on Crosby.
