The Chicago Bears won their second straight game on Thursday, defeating the New England Patriots at Soldier Field. Several players stepped up to help secure the victory, including Luther Burden III. The team made an announcement on social media after the game.

Burden played his best game of the season. He recorded four receptions for 130 yards, one touchdown and 92 yards after catch in the 30-24 win. Caleb Williams distributed the football well and targeted the wide receiver at crucial moments of the game. The star quarterback completed 22-of-33 passes for 308 yards and two touchdowns.

Chicago improved to 5-2 for the season and will have 10 days before they play their game. Burden’s strong game also sent a strong statement to the rest of the competition that is a problem for them moving forward.

The Bears posted a graphic of Burden on Instagram. It included his stats from the win and announced that he has been named the Player of the Game.

“What y’all know about @lutherburden3?!

Burden has been solid for Chicago this season. He has registered at least four receptions in each game, but only breached the 100-yard mark for the first time on Thursday. Ironically, it came on the night that he had the least catches in matchup this campaign.

Next up for Burden and the Bears is a clash with the reigning Super Bowl Champions. They will visit the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field for a “Monday Night Football” fixture on Nov. 2. A home game follows in Week 9 when they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before their bye week.

Chicago is aiming to surpass its achievements in 2025. The team won the NFC North with an 11-6 record and reached the Divisional Round, where it lost 20-17 in overtime to the Los Angeles Rams.
