Bears QB Caleb Williams Makes Personal Admission About Chicago

NFL quarterback Caleb Williams is now thriving with the Chicago Bears. Last season, he recorded 3,942 yards and 27 touchdowns to help the team finish with an 11-6 record and top the NFC North division.

Now, Williams and the Bears are expected to continue their dominant run and compete for a playoff spot once again.

Interestingly, while Williams is now enjoying his time in Chicago, his first impression of the city wasn’t really all that great. In fact, he made a surprising admission about his relationship with the Windy City after initially having doubts about living there.

What started out as an uncertain situation has turned into genuine appreciation for the place he calls home.

In his appearance on Sean Evans’ show, “Hot Ones,” Williams explained how he eventually changed his mind about the city after actually experiencing the culture and what it has to offer.

“I didn’t think I was going to like it that much, to be honest,” Williams said in the video, which has since been shared by the NFL on social media. “I fell in love with the city of Chicago, the people, the food, obviously, the sports and things like that.”

The Bears star went on to explain how the people helped him appreciate Chicago more. He also admitted he was surprised by how clean Chicago is.

“I got a couple other friends that are playing in Chicago. Sports, PCA, Matas, all these other guys. And then one of my other good friends, Cole. He’s also born and bred from Chicago. And the people, I would say, is the biggest thing. I didn’t realize that the people were so hospitable. And then also, Chicago is actually insanely clean. So it’s surprising. That surprised me,” Williams added.

Williams’ time in Chicago may have started with reservations, but his outlook has clearly changed since entering the league in 2024 as the Bears’ top pick in the draft.

The quarterback’s growing connection with the city gives its fans another reason to look up to him, especially with the NFL coming back soon for a new season.
