Bears sign Pro Bowl player to contract extension

The Chicago Bears are locking down a key member of their offense on the eve of the start of their season.

The Bears have agreed to a three-year contract extension with running back D’Andre Swift, according to multiple reports. The deal will be worth $33.75 million, with $27.5 million of that guaranteed.

Swift signed a three-year, $24 million deal with the Bears in 2024. He was entering the last year of that deal, which is why Chicago wanted to get something done before the season started.

Through two seasons in Chicago, Swift has firmly established himself as a key part of Ben Johnson’s offense. Last season was his best of the two, as he tallied 1,087 rushing yards and nine touchdowns for a Bears team that wound up winning the NFC North.

One reason the Bears were eager to get Swift locked down could be Johnson. If the Bears achieve his goals for 2026, Swift is going to have a statistically enormous season.
