Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has proven to be one of the best in the NFL when healthy and he's got a few great targets to work with.
At the top of the list: wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase and the newly franchise-tagged Tee Higgins. But you can never have enough offensive weapons in today's NFL.
That's why the latest mock draft from "The Ringer" makes sense for Cincy. Despite the fact that Burow has Chase and Higgins to spread things out on the outside and downfield, a do-it-all tight end like Brock Bowers from Georgia could really open up the Bengals' offense.
In Danny Kelly's post-NFL Combine mock draft, Bowers falls to No. 18 and is the perfect selection for the Bengals.
"The Bengals keep adding big-time playmakers for Joe Burrow. Bowers is a great schematic complement to Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins in the team’s passing game, giving Cincy a guy who can threaten the seam, beat coverage on high-leverage downs, and create yards after the catch on screens, end arounds, and sweeps," Kelly writes.
In terms of value, it can't be understated how big it would be for the Bengals to land Bowers. Talent-wise, he is a top-10 pick. He caught 26 touchdowns for Georgia over three seasons and was a key piece in two national championship runs.
He's an X-factor and could be the NFL's next great tight end, potentially. To put him alongside Chase and Higgins with a quarterback like Burrow throwing to him? That's an absolute steal at 18th overall.
