The Buffalo Bills are preparing for a short turnaround road game against the No. 1 seed in the AFC, the Denver Broncos, and injuries continue to thin their roster.
Fresh off a 27–24 wild-card win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team will face the seed Broncos on Saturday in a divisional-round matchup without two key players, one on offense, the other on defense.
Head coach Sean McDermott issued an injury update on Monday and announced that wide receiver Gabe Davis has been ruled out for the remainder of the postseason after suffering a torn ACL in his left knee.
On top of that, McDermott confirmed the absence of safety Jordan Poyer for Saturday's game, one that will create a more pressing issue for Buffalo’s defense.

Gabe Davis - torn ACL
Poyer - hammy - week to week
Kincaid - boot was precautionary. Should be fine
Tyrell Shavers - evaluating knee
Poyer’s absence marks another setback in a secondary that has struggled to stay healthy throughout the season. The starting safety exited Sunday’s game against the Jaguars with a hamstring injury, the same issue that forced him to miss Weeks 17 and 18.
Buffalo began the year with Cole Bishop and Taylor Rapp at safety, but Rapp is out for the season after knee surgery. Damar Hamlin and rookie Jordan Hancock are the likely next men up, with Cam Lewis still recovering from injury.
“Damar had a good first week overall coming off the (injured reserve),” McDermott said. “We’ll see where that goes.”
Poyer was added to the roster during training camp and later joined the NFL roster to help stabilize a group ravaged by injuries.
After turning into a weekly starter, however, his absence will bring back uncertainty at a critical position, with no more safeties in the practice squad and a few cornerbacks also injured.
The Broncos will host the Bills on Saturday with kickoff set for 4:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
