Breaking Down All 10 Miami Dolphins UDFA Signings

The dust is settling for the NFL Draft, meaning most undrafted free agents have signed contracts with a team. Let’s look through Miami’s current 11 UDFA signings and what their outlook is for this 2026 season.

Mason Reiger, an EDGE rusher out of Wisconsin, hit the ground running after his senior year. He dominated the 2026 Shrine Bowl practices and went on to win defensive MVP of the game. He has a powerful frame but lacks ideal pass-rush moves, likely contributing to his undrafted status. Miami has already taken 2 edge rushers, but with Trey Moore a hybrid player, Reiger has a shot at making the roster. The Dolphins were very interested in him prior to the draft, so it was no surprise he was one of the first announced UDFA signings across the entire league.

Anthony Hankerson is one of two undrafted running backs that Miami signed. The Dolphins did not acquire any running backs in the offseason until this point. Hankerson made a name for himself at Oregon State after transferring in from Colorado. As a Junior, he recorded over 1000 yards on the ground and scored 15 touchdowns. As a Senior on a 2-10 Oregon State team, he still managed to top 1000 yards with a 4.4 yards per carry average. He has an uphill climb to make the roster, but he offers a smaller, shiftier back than Achane’s current two backup options.

Le’Veon Moss is an intriguing signing. The Texas A&M running back has struggled with injuries his entire collegiate career, but is a powerful rusher when healthy. Someone with his injury history wouldn’t get a shot unless they had some real talent. He has a strong lower half with very good burst and vision. He may be this regime’s solution to short-yardage situations if they feel he has more short-area quickness than Ollie Gordon does.

Donaven McCulley is a 6’4” quarterback turned receiver. He transferred to Michigan from Indiana for his final year of eligibility and put up 588 yards on 39 receptions. With Miami already selecting 3 receivers in the draft, it is an uphill battle for McCulley to make the 53-man roster. His best hope is to get some action in the pre-season and land on a practice squad, potentially Miami’s.

Rene Konga was scooped up by Miami right after the draft. The former Rutgers and Louisville defensive tackle notched a top 30 visit with the team prior to the draft and garnered serious interest from multiple teams after going undrafted. He is a heavy-set nose guard with 6 career sacks. He lacks polish but holds a good anchor and a solid swim move. Miami has a young defensive corps, and Konga has a decent shot at making the 53 man roster, or at worst a priority player on the practice squad.

The Dolphins signed the winningest quarterback in college football history. Mark Gronowski made a name for himself at South Dakota State, a prestigious FCS football factory. He is a 2-time FCS champion and FCS Championship Game MVP. Unfortunately, his attempt to move up the college football ranks cost him, as he ended up in an Iowa offense without an established passing system. Overall, he finished his collegiate career with 103 passing touchdowns and 53 rushing touchdowns. He has real talent and potential and was brought in for a late top-30 visit by Miami. He will compete for the backup spot with Quinn Ewers and his former FCS rival, Cam Miller.

Rodney McGraw was signed by Miami after the draft. He is a smooth edge rusher out of Western Michigan. He has 3 tech versatility and recorded 7 sacks this season. He lacked any national attention and didn’t test particularly well, leading to him going undrafted. Though the edge group is thin in Miami, he is one of 4 rookies competing for limited roster spots. I’d give the nod to Mason Reiger over McGraw as it stands.

Miami was able to grab safety Louis Moore right after the draft. This move is similar to one Chris Grier made last year, when he grabbed the ball-hawking safety, John Saunders. Moore recorded 6 interceptions in a national championship season with Indiana. He had also recorded 3 with the team in 2023. Moore isn’t the fastest player, but he has elite instincts and was one of the best robber safeties in the class. With Miami rostering only 2 safeties with starting experience (Dante Trader, Lonnie Johnson) I think Moore has a great chance of making the roster if he impresses in camp and pre season.

Jim Bonifas, center out of Iowa State, was signed after the draft. He will compete with Andrew Meyer for the backup center spot. He lacks ideal athleticism for Miami’s scheme, but has elite size, standing at 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 320 pounds.

The Dolphins snagged Boston College versatile tackle Kevin Cline after the draft. He is Canadian and has dual citizenship. He had a decent 2024 season before struggling alongside new Bills draft pick Jude Bowry. Cline has an uphill battle, but can’t be ruled out due to Miami’s thin tackle group.
