Brendan Sorsby's situation has seemingly shaken the NFL to its very core.
The Texas Tech Red Raiders quarterback is looking to enter the supplemental NFL Draft in the wake of his gambling scandal and uproar in college football, and multiple teams could throw their names in his hat.
According to insider Ian Rapoport, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is still digging into the situation to determine if he's even eligible for the supplemental draft.
If that's the case, he expects Sorsby to be the most high-profile prospect to enter the league through it in the past three decades, with teams widely considering a first-round-caliber guy.
"I talked to seven general managers to get an understanding of where the talent is," Rapoport said on "The Pat McAfee Show." "They believe, universally, first-round talent. May not get a first-round pick, but first-round talent, and you're probably looking at second- or maybe even third-round supplemental pick if he's eligible to even be in it."
"Brendan Sorsby is gonna be the most high profiled player we've seen in a Supplemental Draft in quite some time..

Talent-wise, Sorsby has the ability to make every throw in the book, both in the pocket and on the move.
He's mobile, can layer throws and would've probably been the third quarterback off the board in a normal NFL Draft behind only Arch Manning and Dante Moore.
That said, he could face a lengthy suspension and still has to work on his technique; he's raw for NFL standards.
That shouldn't be an issue for teams bidding on him, given that they would have the entire season to polish him and get him ready for the 2027 campaign.
Still, given his gambling addiction and how that compromises the integrity of the game, whoever gets him will, understandably, also draw some serious backlash.
